The clinic

About Doc Kit, X.D.

A fictional game doctor with a real clipboard about decks, tables, and play.

Who is Doc Kit?

Doc Kit, X.D. examines decks, strategies, matches, game systems, and tabletop decisions as though they were patients. The white coat is theater. The method is educational: symptoms, workup, diagnosis, prescription, follow-up.

Who is Kit?

Behind the character is a long-time gamer: Magic: The Gathering player, deck brewer, drafter, cube builder, game-design nerd, long-time Dungeon Master, and someone whose other life includes theater, acting, directing, and writing. That is the authority. The joke is the coat.

What does X.D. mean?

X = not. D = doctor. The credential is the punchline, printed in clinic red so nobody files this under medicine by accident.

Clinic philosophy

  1. 01Diagnose the deck, not the player.
  2. 02Understand intent before optimizing.
  3. 03Explain why before prescribing what.
  4. 04Respect budget.
  5. 05Respect sentimental cards.
  6. 06Identify tradeoffs.
  7. 07Test before declaring a cure.
  8. 08Sponsors do not dictate diagnoses.
